The Artful Project – a new online gallery for prints
Joshua Blackburn, who I met during Clerkenwell Design Week, recently launched The Artful Project with his partner Rachel Hotchkiss, selling limited edition contemporary photographic prints. They spotted a gap in the market for affordable prints, either framed or unframed at incredibly reasonable prices (starting from just £75). No need to go to a standard shop […]
Upcycling and bikes

Harry Dwyer is one of the designers in a TV series Kevin’s Supersize Salvage challenged to use every aspect of a decommissioned Airbus A320 aircraft to make something not […]
Margo Selby Textiles
I first came across Margo Selby when she was a student and I was in the silk business as one of our Indian suppliers took her on for a placement. A master weaver, her style is very distinctive and I was impressed by the progression in terms of design and fabrication of her furnishing fabrics, several of […]
Crafted: Makers of the Exceptional – textiles
I’ve already written about Margo Selby in an earlier post so here are some other makers I saw at the show. Chroma, the new collection from Tai Ping Carpets
Tai Ping Carpets recently launched the Chroma collection which caught my eye with painterly designs. I visited their showroom during Chelsea Design Week where a few of the rugs were on display. As always with rugs, it’s very much about texture as well as design and colour. I could feel the sumptuousness of silk & wool […]
