Sirocco Living at Maison & Objet

16/02/2015

Back in my mainstream sourcing days this company would have been a sure bet for one of my clients; I did in fact pass on their details to a potential buyer at the fair.

I stopped at Danish company Sirocco Living trying to figure out how the sealskin on display (not pictured) fitted in with their desert story. Nils Forsberg explained that they source from the Sahara where they live part of the year as well as cold climates more local to their native Denmark, hence the beautiful Greenlandic sheepskins and sealskins with ebony bowls, baskets, blankets, and salt vessels.

The aesthetic is the thing as well as provenance.
