This is the first time for such a show and, apart from the leaflet which left us running around to events which either didn’t run that day or were at a different time and venue from the one listed, seemed quite well attended. I’m sure the teething problems will be resolved but it did mean I only managed to cover a fraction of what I had planned.
Points brought up by Angela Wright at Milliken in her talk on colour psychology were very relevant to the world of branding and interior design.
The Farmeloe Building was the at the centre of things: companies showing included Tom Dixon, Sean Dare, MARK, Toby Winteringham, Hitch Mylius and Camira. there were others but these were the ones who caught my eye. I liked the straw bale seating, even walking around with a bundle on my cycling shorts for the rest of the afternooon – tenacious stuff. People were obviously far too reserved to tell me.
I didn’t get to any of the sustainability discussions due to the general confusion which was disappointing so can’t report on that. All in all, however, it was definitely worth visiting and I hope it was productive for the participating showrooms and designers.
