My bicycle is my principal way of getting around in London and I’d be completely lost without it. Now that bikes have become much more popular as urban transport I’ve noticed that designers are looking at dealing with the tricky issue of storage in the home. I’m lucky to have a wide hallway that keeps my bike well out of the general way especially when wet and muddy but these are fun as well as useful if you need to hang it up.
I wrote about Quarterre‘s bike storage back in 2011 at the Clerkenwell Design Festival and am looking forward to seeing what new things they’ll show later this month.
The trophy wild bicycle holders by Outline Works are inspired by those stuffed heads so beloved of hunting lodges. Deer is a more snug fit than bull but both have a soft finish that won’t scratch your frame.
I wish my bike was always that clean!
