The Wimbledon Art Studios open event, part of the standard December pre-Christmas calendar, is a great way to see a lot of art in a very condensed time span and in one place (down a back street next to a car park). One of the first studios I went into was Vaughn Horsman who, funnily enough, used to work with my friend before setting up here. Can you tell he’s is a trained architect? His laser-cut relief pieces and three dimensional mobiles are cerebral yet not cold; there is life and rhythm within the exactitude, all created within his studio.
Shadows, hardly seen here in my snaps, add another layer to the experience.
