I visited the newly opened Ham Yard Hotel in Soho on a warm evening and it was characteristically buzzy both inside and out. The latest and largest hotel by the Firmdale Group is very much a place to be seen so avoid now if you’re looking for discretion and absolute privacy.
Always good to see a Tony Cragg sculpture, in the public courtyard.
Once we’d found the hotel entrance we went straight into the library (I took this shot towards the end of the evening when everyone had moved to the bars). I could easily spend hours in here – the selection was so much more comprehensive than the normal range in a hotel and I like the book-shaped lights amongst the shelves.
This fully functional clock artwork is just by the lift in the lobby.
Up in the duplex suite you are in the middle of London’s roofscape.
A selection of cheerful artwork is everywhere you lookThe roof terrace for guests and private hire includes a fully functioning potager garden with mature olive tree and fountain.
The Kit Kemp style, honed over many years is tactile, exuberant and multi-layered with the cinema being no exception.
My minute is up & I didn’t include the bowling alley, bars, restaurant or meeting spaces… just too much for one post.

I’m wondering if you know the artist that created the clock in the hotel?
thanks

Hi Gary,
I haven’t been able to find out from the net so recommend asking the hotel. The artist should be credited!
