This posting is unashamedly one by a long-time fan and disrupts my recent pattern of sharing emerging talent. Hermès is one of my favourite companies; I’ve known about them from childhood and still wear the silk scarf inherited from my grandmother. I love the value they place on craftsmanship and their development of the new inspired by the past. I also cherish the fact that they created true classics, products that endure over decades.
Here are a couple of shots of the customised Hermès 2CV car taken at the Leather Forever exhibition earlier this year.
Milan Design Week 2012 also saw the launch of a screen system designed by architect Shigeru Ban, using the Hermès H.

I’ll end with a couple of their sayings which have become mantra-like for me:
“Every detail is not a detail” and “We make things to be repaired”
Although not every item is to my personal taste I admire and appreciate the integrity of it all. Aaahhh….
