One of the beauties of the London Design Festival was the selection of work and locations. The V & A extended its programme from last year with work throughout the museum. One of the pieces I loved was The Journey of a Drop by Rolf Sachs in the grand staircase stairwell of the Henry Cole Wing, normally closed to the public. Sound and colour combined to experience the journey of a drop of pigmented water from the top of the stairwell to a tank at the bottom.
Technical problems meant that only blue and red of the three primary colours were working but that was fine by me. If anything the irregularlty of colour and sound of plopping enhanced the experience.
