Steel, granite and copper, three materials symbolising Norway’s industrial heritage, are combined for these imposing and very beautiful mirrors by Hunting and Narud, currently on show at Libby Sellers.
They are very seductive with warm mobile surfaces and multiple light reflections held in pace by immovable granite blocks. Really sensual and tactile.
You can see it’s the beginning of London Design Week by the box of catalogues in the corner.
This one, with the piled-up slab base, was the prototype. I felt a bit sorry for it stuck at the back but Amy Hunting made me feel better by telling me its story and the progression to the final work at the front.
