As I’ve said before , I am not normally of an acquisitive nature but some things just get to me. One person whose work I lust after is Alice Cicolini. Her exhibition of new work along with fellow jeweller Fernando Jorge was at Somerset House and visiting was an experience in itself.
The mix of rock crystal, rose quartz, jade, gold, enamel and pearls (I’m sure I’ve missed something out) in the pendant above is something only she can do.
My picture of assorted rings gives an idea of the range of enamel colours, specially taken over to the makers as they have a much more limited selection in India.
The ebony pieces now include earrings and more rings.
Fernando’s work is very different with a soft organic sensuality that is, to me, very Brazilian, I could see Ayrton Senna’s girlfriends wearing this after a long day at the beach. The more you see it , the more appealing it becomes.
