Pulse London 2011 – Part 1

07/06/2011

Pulse, the home accessory and gift fair  is an eclectic mix of products. It’s mainly small businesses, many just starting out. Here are a couple of first-time exhibitors.

Flock Follies, Jayne Tarasun’s new venture, includes these bird feeders. The transluscent plastic cubes (recyclable)  have irregular cutout shapes, only accessible to small native birds. They can hang anywhere in an outdoor space – even from a wall bracket or in a large flowerpot. Although she hasn’t been able to source recycled plastic yet (no translucent available so far)  the cardboard packaging can be used as a seed tray with sunflower seeds include so you can grow your own birdseed. A lovely touch.

A completely different company is Je Vous En Prie, a partnership between Fabienne Lecocq, a textile designer and Jerome Barris, interior designer. Their clean and sophisticated fabric collections, woven by one of my favourite British silk weavers come as  finished products where the textiles do the talking or as metrage.
