New floor and wall encaustic tiles by Lindsey Lang

24/10/2013

Lindsey Lang, whose work I’ve written about before, has recently developed a tile collection that expands the asymmetrical abstract themes already seen in her textiles into repeat with flooring. Patterns now repeat ad infinitum in a very satisfying way.

The seemingly unbalanced look of “Leaf” (the big grey tile in the centre below) is resolved when seen en masse. I also like the delicacy of “Hex” (bottom row below), becoming quite mediterranean in feel once laid. Clever.

Colouring ranges from strong to subtle, suitable for all areas of an interior. As the floor shots were just coming out when I saw her at Design Junction, please click on theĀ dedicated tile site for more information.
