It’s always a pleasure to visit a MADE show as the standard of work on display is of such a high standard. This time MADE London was in a new pop-up venue in Islington. Ceramics were the main thing that caught my eye; here are just a few of the makers whose work I admired.
There’s something mid-20th century and very satisfying about Elizabeth Renton‘s tableware.
Justine Allison, on the other hand, focusses on form with subtle hand drawn geometric decoration.
Edit Juhasz makes functional porcelain in succulent colours.
Ceramics are only part of what’s on show so here are other exhibitors that I had to include.
I loved this mixed media Wren and caterpillar piece by textile artist Bridget Bailey – the stop-motion quality is enhanced by shadows.
Hand painted wearable textiles in natural fibres by Carole Waller
and clean shaped leatherwear in zingy colours by Frank Horn.
You can catch more makers at MADE Brighton on from 24th to 26th November.
Otherwise you’ll have to wait for the next ones!
