I always find the information presented by Elisabeth Leriche inspiring and sometimes poetic. Her latest presentation at Maison & Objet didn’t disappoint and I was surprised to meet one of the exhibitors, Geoffroy Gillant, who had also been at the Libby Sellers private view a few days before.
His white Carrara marble disc, “Stella”, forms part of an ongoing project, “Objects of a Cosmic Drama”, addressing the ideas of cosmogony. As it connects with some of the concerns in my own artwork we enjoyed a very brief discussion before I had to move on.
Other creators in the display included these mouth blown glass rotating Ripple lamps by Poetic Lab;
Space Odyssey, an installation by Etienne Rey which I experienced several times;
another of his pieces from the Ondes Paralleles studio;
this delicately toned wall piece by Johanna Grawunder;
Dennis Parren’s CMYK corner light
and the surface tension lamps by Design Front for Booo (I’ve included my shot of the falling bubble even if it’s a bit blurred)
