Anything by Louise Bourgeois is worth looking at in my book – this woman worked as an artist for most of her life and was only recognised in her later years. As I heard someone say recently: if you’re a female artist the one thing you need in your lifetime is longevity and Bourgeois fortunately lived long enough to receive the recognition she deserved.
I had never seen these pressed cord pieces before; they were displayed on a back wall and I can’t find the gallery reference as it wasn’t on the label which is a bit of a bummer.
If anyone can help me with this then please get in touch.
