Drawing, something that moves me immensely, is an activity promoted by Rabley Drawing Centre which celebrated its 10th anniversary. Their stand included this large drawing by Eileen Cooper which stopped me in my tracks. Much of her work fills the page edge to edge so this piece was a bit different and felt as if it were breathing.
Other impressive examples included this exquisitely precise Banksian cockatoo’s wing (the name is pure coincidence – I unfortunately have no connection to Sir Joseph Banks) by Elizabeth Butterworth at the Redfern Gallery
and Alison Lambert‘s intense observations at Jill George Gallery
