The Poetry Pharmacy describes itself as “The world’s first ever Poetry Pharmacy offering walk-in prescriptions, literary gifts, and books to address your every emotional ailment”. It’s a delightful concept.
A friend introduced me to the original shop and cafe in Bishop’s Castle, Shropshire where they told me that they had a London branch, on Oxford Street of all places. I was in holiday mode in Shropshire so took these photos when I visited Oxford Circus.
You can choose from a wide variety of bottles with prescriptions for anything from dithering to confidence boosting. Even if you’re not into any of that, the poetry book and gift selection is pretty comprehensive.
And I’m told they serve excellent coffee and cake.
Who wouldn’t love these plasters?
