Seeing the Switch building at Tate Modern finally open was pretty exciting for me and an awful lot of other people as illustrated by the long and very orderly queue last Wednesday.
I love the brick facade – can anyone tell me what those wire bits in the gaps are for?
Dramatic views wherever you look The stairs up to the viewing platform on the 10th floor become really narrow – I suppose the architects assume that everyone will take the lift.
Does anyone actually live in these now terribly overlooked flats?
For those who remember visiting the tanks a few years ago, not too much has changed though it feels much lighter & more open with a
wonderful spiralling staircase that you can tuck yourself into right at the bottom.
So go, even if you don’t like modern art. The building alone is worth it – more of the art in a later post.
