It has been over 2 years since I visited Paris and for the first time I was able to see public art without crowds of tourists all over the place. I know it’s bad for business but I did enjoy the quiet in these almost deserted public spaces.
Les Deux Plateaux installation by Daniel Buren (now known as Les Colonnes de Buren) caused an outcry when it was first revealed back in 1985.
Spherades, fountains by Pol Bury, were also installed back in 1985. No water that day though.
Some, like the huge Flying Dragon by Alexander Calder are temporary,
Others (also temporary) are almost unnoticed like these benches by Edmund de Waal outside the Musée Nissim de Camondo.
