I came across Sarah Turner a little while ago and loved the quality of light that her lamps produce. I also completely agree with her comment that, just because something is made from what is considered rubbish, it doesn’t need to look like it. By selecting her materials carefully for their innate qualities she achieves the desired results, the same as any good designer.
Her chosen materials are discarded plastic drinks bottles but this is the last thing you think of when seeing the lamps.
Like so many small businesses, everything is currently made in the UK but the creative use of plastic waste can work anywhere.
Look out for her at Tent in London next month.
