Melanie Porter is one of a group of designers who have moved successfully from fashion to interiors. Her knitted lampshades are what first caught my eye.
You can order from an existing range but the best thing is that she will work bespoke to revive a cherished, maybe battered, piece of furniture.
This isn’t a minimalist look by any means but then you wouldn’t come to her for that. If you’re looking for warmth, cosiness and a fine bit of cable stitch then she’s your woman.
