U-Konserve at Green Tulip

25/02/2013

Don’t you sometimes feel a bit overwhelmed by the whole Green, ethical and sustainable thing when it comes to product design ? Well here is product that is refreshingly attractive as well as helping to tick those boxes above.

I spotted these lunch boxes by U-Konserve on the Green Tulip stand at Home. It’s a smart collection of portable lunch ware initially for kids and now for adults too made from “safe” non-leaching plastic, recycled plastic bottles, organic cotton and stainless steel.

Hot and cold insulation, liquids, solids, it’s all covered and looks good too.

I’ve only focused on one brand here but Green Tulip , the UK distributors, stock a variety of environmentally aware products that are well-designed and practical. Charity, who started the company in 2007, told me more about their background: products are initially sourced by appearance and function but only make it through to final selection once the environmental and ethical background has been researched.

Judging from how busy they were at the show it’s definitely the way forward.
