It was a brilliantly sunny morning when I walked into Cristea Roberts which made the colours sing out and, as almost every picture was framed with highly reflective glass, all my shots are taken from an angle.
The exhibition theme hits you from the moment you enter with Josef Albers’ Never Before collection of screenprints opposite Rana Begum’s No. 947 Wall Drawing.
Patrick Heron prints led you further into the space where you could see
a series of prints by Carlos Cruz-Diez playing with shape layering using fine bands of colour.
Polly Apfelbaum uses stripes in different combinations to change the temperature and the
ever-impressive Bridget Riley had a few prints including this candy-coloured one. More about her to come soon.
There was apparently more downstairs but it was busy with a meeting – I didn’t feel cheated though as had so much to enjoy already.
