If you want singing colours and a 60’s -70’s architectural vibe then Nick Grindrod is your man.
His recent solo show with Smithson Gallery in London showed a range of work in different sizes on wood, canvas and paper.
This isn’t cold , perfect geometry, splashes, dabs and washes humanise the canvas showing traces of living, almost wear and tear.

New were these altered vintage posters from his home town in Sheffield

as well as some of his preparatory drawings. It’s always interesting to see how things evolve

and I loved their delicacy as well as the sample colour dots.

Grindrod, like me, is a member of ArtCan from its early days – we exhibited together back in 2018 in Sheffield and I’ve been following his work ever since.
