This post is different as I’m including my work, not just other people’s. Strands was an ArtCan member group show held at The Department Store in Brixton and sponsored by Suna Interior Design.
I had 3 pieces selected by the curators: Harmonic Drift (shadows are integral to these Drifts hence the detail shot below) and a couple of small studies on watercolour paper.
The curators wanted to illustrate that artists often work in different media whilst exploring the same idea. This meant that sculpture, drawing, print, photography, installation and video were all included. It could have been a mess but congratulations to them for making it work so well.
We don’t often have the chance to display the various “strands” of our art practice within the same show so I enjoyed setting up one of my Drifts (a mobile sculpture) as well as paintings.
Here are a few of the pieces I also enjoyed in the show.
You can view all works in the online catalogue: with 200 works from 120 artists it’s way too many to include here.
NB. The money from all work sold goes direct to the artists as ArtCan does not charge commission on sales.
