I was recently one of the artists in THE AUDACITY, a group show exploring the female gaze and taking up space.
Curated by London-based performer and artist Stephanie Leigh Rose, STEFDIES with Friends: THE AUDACITY was a bold and unfiltered exploration of the female gaze—a visual reclaiming of power, presence, and public space.
The month-long exhibition ran for most of July and featured 21 women artists working in sculpture, photography, painting, mixed media, and performance. Located in the heart of Shoreditch at Boxpark, the show was a gathering of creative audacity and community spirit.
Here is the list of the exhibitors: STEFDIES, Caroline Banks, Natacha Bisarre, Lene Bladbjerg, Inkteraktiv (Caro Clarke), Jody DeSchutter, Jessica Dunn, Lucy SM Johnston, Courtenay Kusitor, Danic Lago, Delphine Lebourgeois, Lauren Ly, Louise Nordh, Yuria Orellana, Ansley Randall, Constance Regardsoe, Rosie Rushton, Pippa Smith, Willow Stacey, Karen Turner and Kayleigh Young.
I didn’t take many photos myself – we had Alex Walton as our official photographer, beginning with our pre-opening group die-ins. See if you can spot me!
Working with a group of female artists made the experience so much more than just showing art: we ran workshops, gave talks and engaged with every visitor, even providing a safe space where women could find help and solace if needed.
I exhibited one of my Drifts as well as a few small canvases.
We also collaborated with local businesses including Ciao Bella, a hairdressing salon which showed our work. You can see one of my Vortex paintings below while stylist Giulia is at work.
This was the initial show for what promises to be an ongoing project so please scan the QR code to stay in touch on Instagram.
