
Sun at Night is the current exhibition at the Barbican Curve, the first solo show in London for Shilpa Gupta. A moving exploration of the abuse of human rights for writers and poets.
Give yourself time when visiting as, although the pieces are small, their impact is powerful.

Small sculptures and drawings line the walls, the sparseness giving space to pause between exhibits. They are often quite banal looking but contain much meaning and emotion.
The pizza slice of a clock below indicates the number of minutes (3) permitted for visiting time in a prison.




The final piece For, In Your Tongue, I Cannot Fit (2017–18) is almost in darkness so you have to pick your way through 100 spikes to read and listen to poetry by 100 poets imprisoned for their work, writings, or beliefs throughout time.
