Polished and glamorous, her portraits of award-winning costume designer Sandy Powell play with a web of references. Blue is used here with the exact copy of the Freddie Buretti-designed suit that David Bowie wore in the video for Life On Mars.
The pose and front & back views remind us of costume design drawings as well as those paper dolls with paper wardrobes you would find in magazines. Do they still exist?
