This group show brought together four recent graduates: Zachary Eastwood-Bloom, Alida Sayer, James Irwin and Brendan Olley.
I first met Zachary at his degree show last year and he’s since featured in several exhibitions including the Craft Council’s Design Lab touring show. His main new piece here is another table, a repro piece, given the digital cutting treatment which revealed the materials as well as the quality.
Alida Sayer’s work is very different, consisting of selected book extracts including The Mirror and Transparent Things.
In “What I saw”, the paper is laboriously hand-cut leaving the distorted text to be read in parts and as a whole.
“A vanishing point” uses multiple sheets of acetate painted with the words diminishing in scale.
