I have something of a confession to make – I had never visited the ING Discerning Eye till this year when a painting of mine was accepted.
The ING Discerning Eye is an annual exhibition held at the Mall Galleries with submitted entries selected by a panel of judges. The only stipulation is that the work must be smaller than 50 x 50cm.
Mixed shows can be frustrating but I was surprised at the high quality of work (all of which is for sale) and saw a lot of art I would have been tempted to buy for myself.
I was honoured to discover that my piece, Fanfare (Introduction) was selected by the curator and art historian Aindrea Emelife.
In addition to the main show there is also the drawing section which had some fabulous pieces as you can see below.
Here are a few of the other pieces that caught my eye…
It was good to see that several of my artist friends also had work selected: too many to mention in a 1-minute post but some are fellow members of ArtCan.
The exhibition ended on the 20th November but remains online until the 31st December. Click here to view it online.
