The premise of Feel the Sound, the current exhibition at the Barbican is of the deep effect sound has on our bodies and other senses. It’s quite interactive which is fun and in this post I’ll aim to give a you a taste.
Here are photos of some of the most visual exhibits. I recommend watching the trailer to feel the vibe.
The Post -Cyberpunk harmonium (above) and sarod (below) are next to the interactive dance piece (see title photo) also by Elsewhere in India in collaboration with Dulal Kanji, Praphul Ambika & Bigfoot Guitars, Goa.
Reflections of Being by Max Cooper is a piece you can walk around or just sit with for a while.
It is followed by this installation, Joyride by Temporary Pleasure whihc I loved as it took me back to raves.
There are various points where you have the option of sound portrait shots which measure your pulse, temperature etc.
This is a still from my final portrait in sound, Inner Symphony at the end of the exhibition, created by Nexus Studios and Kinda Studios.
