
The West influenced by the East and vice-versa. It’s a truism as of course we’re inevitably influenced by others, evident in this exhibition of artists from two different cultures (and generations) with an affinity of concerns. Both Ed Moses and Qin Feng have a connection to abstract expressionism and a shared fascination with the gesture.

I can’t put my finger on quite why his paintings move me: is it the references in the layering? The depth of materialism within the painting? Since for me the point of art is to express what cannot be verbalised I’ll just keep looking.
