OK, I confess, I’m not very active on Facebook but connection with David Tragen came through an old friend proving the value of its use.
David Tragen trained as a furniture maker working mainly in wood, after spending time teaching in Barcelona. His work has always had a strongly organic feel to it and he’s recently become excited by movement expressed in hard materials which feels much more contemporary. The first of these new pieces, seen above, is Beating Wings, which is on display with another piece hot from the workshop, Sidewinder (see below), at Cube Gallery, Portland St., Manchester, from the 15th to 25th of May.
And a last image he’s just sent me of Onda, an understated and simple shelf.
His is amongst other makers’ work in what looks like an unmissable show.
