Last Week’s Hampton Court Flower Show was a delight although many of the flowers in the Rose Pavilion were visibly wilting in the intense heat.
The freshest cut flowers on display were from Charlie Ryrie on the Real Cut Flower Garden stand. This was full of lovely garden flowers displayed in vintage containers which looked very happy even though they’d been cut almost a week beforehand. Charlie, who showed at Hampton Court this year for the first time , provides bouquets to order composed of flowers grown on her land in Herefordshire. These are the flowers you’d love to give but can rarely find commercially. Everything is seasonal as she sends flowers during the natural growing cycle from March till November. The customer receives whatever is available at the time of ordering; what a wonderful surprise – a world away (not just figuratively speaking) from your standard Interflora offer and yet very competitively priced. Environmentally friendly and beautiful… now how fab is that?
