As several of you will know, I showed my work in New York for the first time at The Other Art Fair in Brooklyn. For some reason I hardly took any photos this time but here are a few snaps of some of the artists I met. I loved the fact that we were from all over the place at a show like this.
The Two hour Portrait project has been keeping Carl Grauer busy over the past few years and he was fully booked during the show. I’ve reserved myself a spot to sit for him for when he next comes to London from his studio in the Hudson Valley.
Jorge Yazpik makes large sculptures in Mexico for architectural projects; I like the combination of materials in this piece, tiny in scale compared to much of his other work.
Raul de la Torre, a Catalonian based in Los Angeles, combines acrylic paint with embroidery, playing with texture & dimensionality.
And Terry Boyd from Pittsburgh makes large stitched pieces, both stretched and loose, heavy with thread.
Adam Daley Wilson’s work, like the others listed, rewards repeated viewing.
There is much more to say but, to keep to my 1 minute promise I’ll stop here so please click through the weblinks to learn more about each artist.
