Contemporary lighting

Maison & Objet is always a good place to see interesting lighting; my selection includes modular OLED lighting system by Blackbody, shown here hung in the form of a chandelier.

It works for both large and small scale installations.

Re-issued Mantis lighting from Bernard Schottlander was inspired by Alexander Calder in the 1950s.

This yarn lampshade from Missoni was made, I think, just for the stand but it’s a great DIY idea which I expect to see on Design*Sponge at some point.

Tom Dixon has developed and expanded his laser-cut polygonal metal lamps which give an atmospheric glow and throw enchanting shadows.
