TracktileTables made me laugh

08/11/2011

Tracktile Tables  designed by Three Foot Three Design in Nottingham  launched at 100% Design this autumn.

A little train with wagons to hold chocolates and snacks (also sold) travels along tracks in the table. Tiles can be configured to your preferred route then flip back to make a plain table when not in use.

Was it inspired by the silver model railway at the Scindia family’s Jai Vilas palace in Gwalior which used to tootle along the table carrying brandy and cigars after dinner? Now that I would have loved to see in action. This, however, is the English domestic version and is very sweet. I didn’t dare snatch a Malteser from the stand although I was very tempted. Derailments would be common at my house.
